We also offer combination muskie and brook trout trips. This trip is best done early in the spring, usually a two to three week period around Memorial weekend. Campouts are available or remote camp rental is available. Please call or email for pricing of this trip.

We have a recommended list of flies for brook trout and muskie for our trips. Contact us for the list or you may buy your flies from our store. All flies are tied by one of Maine’s most famous fly tier, Ty Coates. Ty makes the flies to Dave’s specifications and Ty’s vast fishing knowledge is also incorporated. Dave has been using Ty’s flies and patterns since 1980!

This trip includes one day of Back Country Muskie Fishing with Dave. One day with Dave and Tom Tardiff on the Prestile Stream. The Prestile Stream is the longest free flowing limestone river in the Northeast that has never been stocked. Fishing for native brookies at its finest! Lodging is also provided by Northern Door Inn in Fort Kent.

One day you will fish for muskies with Dave. The next day you will fish for brook trout on the Prestile with Dave and Tom. Tom is one of the most knowledgeable fishermen on the Prestile Watershed and an excellent fly fisherman. (Not to mention a Red Green Look-a-Like). It will be a trip to remember.

Included in the trip pricing:

• Three nights lodging at Northern Door Inn.
• Guided trip for muskies with Dave. Lunch provided.
• Transportation from Fort Kent to the Prestile Stream to fish with Tom and Dave
• Lunch the day of fishing the Prestile. Fresh caught brookies are an option if you so desire.

Four anglers can be accommodated on this trip. Its fly fishing at its finest but all tackle types can be accommodated. Tom and Dave are also great fly fishing instructors. Novices are more than welcome and encouraged.

Couples please note: Dave has taught a Becoming an Outdoorswomen (BOW) fly fishing course. If you want to get your significant other into your favorite sport this is great opportunity. No additional charge for beginners! Limited tackle can be provided for beginners.
